Drive for Soldiers a Huge Success

It's hard to describe in words and pictures the amount of generosity our community showed when Hand to Hand did the Soldier Care Package drive. We mailed 104 boxes to the Georgia Army National Guard's Bravo Company 2-121 Infantry, 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. These soldiers are currently in Afghanistan. According to US Post Office scales, we mailed over 1000 pounds of treats to the soldiers! Heather Smith had several classes of Barnwell Elementary students write letters to the troop. As we read the letters thanking our soldiers for their sacrifice, courage, and protection, they brought tears to our eyes. Every box had a letter and some had two. Thank you to the neighbors and Stephanie Mitra's girl scouts that helped sort, pack, and address all the boxes. Thank you mostly, to all the neighbors that gave monetary donations and items to make this service project the success it was.
