2005 Charity Recipients

Major Gifts
Charities may apply for gifts up to $40,000. Major Gift recipients each year are chosen from applicants by a vote of the Guild members.

Grants
Additional grant requests up to $5,000 are awarded each year by the Guild.

Congratulations to the charities voted by the CCOS Charity Guild membership to receive funding for 2005! The charities selected are:

Atlanta Day Shelter: A daytime home and resource center for homeless women and children. Last year, over 6500 people were able to use the center’s resources, 1200 were assisted by job-training program, and 800 women were placed in full or part-time jobs.

Homestretch: Provides transitional housing and supportive services including life-skills to homeless and near homeless families in North Fulton.

House of Hope: Provides recovery programs, life-skill training and faith-based counseling to men, women, and children with alcohol and drug addiction

Lekotek: Assists children with physical and cognitive disabilities with their efforts to fit into their families and society. The children are matched up with educational materials and computer equipment specifically adapted for their particular disability.

My House: An emergency shelter for medically fragile and abused children ages birth through 4 years who are in custody of DFCS and unable to be cared for by family. Care is 24/7 with over 300 volunteers until children can find permanent placement.

We look forward to partnering with these dynamic organizations that provide so much to the less fortunate in our communities.
